East Berlin, December 1989: The Wall has fallen. Andreas Wernecke and his mentor Oberst Steiner are two agents of the MfS, the east german secret police. And they are on the hunt for files that have been stolen from the MfS while the CIA is flooding East Berlin with its agents. Both are following the trail into a safehouse and meet a sparrow – a deadly female assassin with a past and a secret. And while Andreas tries to uncover the past of the sparrow to get to the files, he finds out that at the end of a war not everyone finds peace.

Based on a true story, Rosenholtz is a noir-spy thriller, set in East Berlin 1989. This story follows the infamous Rosewood-Files on their way from the MfS to the CIA where it’s existence became public in 1992. The film itself is told on two timelines simultaneously. Written by Simon, directed by Jonathan Behr and produced at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.
